Richard has worked at Hampton Court Palace as part of the Historic Kitchens Team since 1992, responsible for the research and planning of live historic cookery events through that time.
Read moreTaking over the management of the Kitchen Team in April 2017 he is now responsible for planning, creating and delivering live historic cookery and food interpretation across all six Palaces that are under the care of Historic Royal Palaces. Specialising in the history of Henry VIII’s kitchens at Hampton Court, medieval bread and the development of roasting through the middle ages, Richard aims to use food as the lens through which to view the stories of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.
