A workshop for all ages and abilities. Using pretreated light sensitive paper along with flowers, leaves and other objects you will create unique prints using an alternative photographic method discovered in the 18th Century. Participants will be able to design their own prints, expose the paper in the sunlight given to us on the day and take this away with them after we've processed the print together using water. The perfect activity to do out in nature on the grounds of Hampton Court Palace and particularly fun for families to do together.

Using freshly cut flowers and foliage, you will be asked to arrange these to make a unique ephemeral design on to traditional darkroom paper. We will then place it out in the sunshine to watch it change and discuss the properties in the paper which make this happen. This is a great workshop to do outside in nature on the grounds of Hampton Court Palace. This is a lesson in impermanence and change, as the prints will eventually fade away unless they are kept in the dark. You will be asked to make a black envelope to take your work home with you as part of the workshop.
