Use the fun, eco-resin Jesmonite to create a unique tray to take home! Jesmonite is a chameleon material that can mimic stone or ceramic - a brilliant hands-on craft that is perfect for all levels. During the taster workshop you will measure and mix Jesmonite, play around with pigmenting, then cast it into a mould. You will also learn the technique of marbling to customize your beautiful piece! The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) is thrilled to be part of the Hampton Court Palace Artisan Fayre 2024.The RSN is the international centre of excellence for the art of hand embroidery offering a range of courses for beginners through to advanced, across a variety of techniques. RSN will teach a 90 minute workshop every day, which will take place in our learning studios, part of the original grace in favour Palace apartments, not usually accessible to visitors. We will teach this Luna Moth design (also known as an American Moon Moth) which has been created by RSN Future Tutor Graduate 2023 Abigail Carter. You will learn a variety of surface stitches and beginners’ Goldwork techniques.  This is an opportunity to learn back stitch, stem stitch and turkey rug, along with couched gold metal thread and spangles.
